Lobby the UK Government

Send an eCard to Hilary Benn

You can help by sending an e-card to Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, asking him to encourage the farming industry to develop humane and pragmatic alternatives to live exports or culling at birth which benefit calf welfare and UK farm livelihoods:

Dear Mr Benn,

I believe the UK dairy industry should rear male calves in UK farms.

Their alternatives are being shot at birth or a long and stressful journey to a veal farms on the continent, where conditions could be illegal under UK law.

Please support Compassion in World Farming and the Calf Stakeholders Forum to help farmers rear calves in the UK and provide them with bedding, more space and a better diet.
