Compassion in World Farming has been campaigning for better welfare for farm animals for nearly 40 years.
CIWF began as a small organisation campaigning for better standards of animal welfare in the UK only. In the last four decades, we have grown to be able to turn our attentions on Europe and more recently, to the rest of the world.
CIWF believes it is vital to campaign, lobby and educate at an international level and we are connected with an extensive family of animal welfare groups which reach to the four corners of the globe.
In Europe, CIWF leads the European Coalition for Farm Animals (ECFA). ECFA consists of 32 animal welfare groups in 25 EU countries plus Israel. On a worldwide level CIWF co-ordinates its campaigns with over 150 other groups.
